The
far western part of Nepal is famous for its view.
It has a distinctive landscape which is mostly irregular and unusual. There are plenty wetlands and marshy
areas which make up the integral far
western part of this country. Although, a popular tourist destination, it has
some tough treks to its credits as well. The kind of treks that are difficult for most of the people to complete. Also,
most of the famous destinations belong to the far western part of Nepal as well.
For instance, Ramaroshan is one of those favorite destinations and is situated
in far west Nepal.
Ramaroshan
is a distinct piece of landmass and has a
different landscape to offer. Let us take a look at this amazing geographical piece of land and it's characteristics-
1- Ramaroshan is situated at an altitude of more than 2500
meters above sea level, and hence, the climatic conditions within the area
vary from pleasant to cold. The landmass is the home to around 18 meadows and
around twelve lakes. The localities refer to meadows
as maidaans in their local language. The fields are vast and beautiful while the lakes have interesting shapes and structure.
2- To
the north of Ramaroshan, there are rock cliffs which are seasonally climbed by
the locals. The locals climb these cliffs to secure honey in large quantities.
In addition to this, the view from the topic is spectacular. When you climb
these cliffs which are at a modest height of 100 metres, you can have the full
view of Budhiganga basin. Not just the basin, you can also catch a spectacular
glimpse of the mighty mountain range that
houses Badi Mallika temple as well.
3- The
locals claim that there are myriads of wild animals found around Ramaroshan.
You can easily spot bears, wild boars and
if you are lucky enough, you may even spot a tiger near or within Ramaroshan.
Such is the kind of wildlife it offers.
4- It
is fascinating to note that most of the areas in the far western part of Nepal
have some connection with the Hindu gods. For instance, it is believed that
Lord Rama used to visit this piece of land for peace and tranquility. And
gradually, the area got its name from Lord Rama. In another story, it is also
believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati used to visit this place frequently. It happened after Lord Shiva and Parvati got married. It is simply fascinating to
know these legends being associated with
these piece of land.
5- With
an altitude ranging from 2500 meters to 3800 meters above sea level, Ramaroshan
is a place of diversity. From catching a glimpse of wild animals in the open to
watching the mighty mountain ranges of Mount Saipal
and Mount Api, Ramaroshan is a must visit place. Every single traveler who has
been here having his own unique
story to narrate. Every single visitor tends to share a different story of themselves as the place is somewhat mystical
and renders its own charm.
